Well illustrator Kristen Leonard is not afraid to go all out with ink, covering every possible centimeter of her post-it note and creating these fantastic whacky like images.

Alberta College of Art and Design graduate Jonathan Dueck posted some pages of his sketchbook up on flickr and I thought it would be worth sharing. Kooky and macabre, I couldn't ask for much more :)

Growing up in Denver Colarado, illustrator Andreas Guzman has managed to build an ever impressive folio of illustrations and design work that manage to burn copious amounts of time for the viewer.   His work can be described as warped and disturbing amongst layered and distorted  landscapes of smeared colour. Just the way I like it. Enjoy some of these scans direct from his sketchbook.

Stumbling across these sketches today reminded me of how excited I got back in the day when I discovered Juxtapoz magazine. This sketchbook of Jabson Rodrigues is a treasure chest of psychadelic pop art and illustrative excellence. South American filmmaker, photographer and poet Alejandro Durán photographs are making waves in the Caribbean shores of Yucatan. From the trash that washes up on the shores Sian Ka'an, Mexico's first federally protected biosphere Alejandro sculpt and photographs these amazing shots that transforms disgust into a surreal oasis.

Come and See (originally titled “There is a Hitler in All of Us” but censored by the Russian film commission) is the most brilliant anti-war film ever made and after a year filled with global unrest and turmoil I thought this would be a good retrospective pick.

Over the years Benneton have produced some brilliant advertsing cmpaigns and at the same time managed to cause their fair share of controversy. Recently a campaing that was raised depicting the Pope kissing a Muslim leader was legally challenged by the Vatican and forced the advertising giant to remove the posters.
